Letter, 1871 April 18.

Letter written at Syracuse, N.Y. to N.Y. Governor John T. Hoffman. "Some time ago I signed a petition for the appointment of some person in this county as agent for the Onondaga Indians on this reservation: I was not aware of the fact that Mr. Gardner desired to be continued in that office." The second page of the document has signatures of other individuals who wish that R. H. Gardner be continued as Indian agent.
